Candlelight at Teatro Doglio: exceptional music in the heart of Cagliari
A complete sensory experience, an all-encompassing journey into the beauty of music and light.
Conceived in the United States in 2014 by Fever, the global platform for live entertainment, the Candlelight Concerts emerge as an extraordinary experience, a symphony of light and melodies that envelops the audience in an embrace of serenity and rare beauty.
These are unique and engaging events, born from the happy union between the magic of live music and the vibrant atmosphere of candles, which know how to create a multisensory experience that goes far beyond simply listening to melodies: the goal is to transform the space around, making it a place of contemplation and relaxation.
It is a journey through emotions, guided by the flickering light of candles and the therapeutic power of music: musical notes can act as a sort of “medicine for the soul”, relieving stress, restoring mood and giving a feeling of general well-being.
In the Candlelight Concerts, the choice to accompany the music with the soft light of candles is not accidental: their flame has had a deep meaning since ancient times and represents light in darkness, and hope in moments of uncertainty.
In addition, with its moderate intensity and enveloping colour, it has the power to relax the mind, reduce stress, improve sleep quality, and promote a state of inner tranquillity.
In an increasingly hectic world, Candlelight evenings offer a temporary refuge, an opportunity to unplug and connect with one’s soul: they are an invitation to let oneself be carried away by the magic of art and to find serenity thanks to the symphony of light and melody.
Exceptional music in the heart of Cagliari
Teatro Doglio, in Via Logudoro in Cagliari, after an intense work of architectural and functional redevelopment, is now the second biggest theatre in the city after Teatro Lirico, the reference point for musical events and shows of the highest level as well as a conference centre that can host from 100 to 1000 people and an enviable location for ceremonies and niche events.
On November 25th, lighted only by the glow of thousands of candles, it will envelop the audience in a relaxing and romantic atmosphere with two exceptional tributes, to fully experience the magic of the Candlelight Concerts in the Sardinian capital.
It starts with “Candlelight: Ennio Morricone and other film soundtracks”, a great tribute to a great musician, a tribute to his most famous soundtracks such as “Gabriel’s Oboe”, “Malena” and many other timeless pieces.
Morricone, born in Rome in 1928, left an indelible mark on the world of cinema, helping to define the musical language of over 500 films.
His career, which began in the Sixties, has been characterised by extraordinary versatility: he has, in fact, successfully ranged between genres and styles, from the epic soundtrack of “Once Upon a Time in the West” to the melancholic notes of “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso”.
His ability to intertwine emotions and images has made his compositions a fundamental element in the understanding and emotional experience of films.
Among Morricone’s most famous works, the soundtrack of “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”, a masterpiece of Western cinema, undoubtedly stands out: the notes of the famous main theme, with the characteristic whistle, have become an icon and represent the perfect combination of visual suggestion and the evocative power of music.
Listening to Morricone’s music in a context such as the Candlelight Concerts adds further emotion to an already extraordinary experience: imagine yourself sitting in an intimate setting, surrounded by the warm light of candles, while the poignant notes of “Once Upon a Time in America” spread in the air and create a unique and engaging atmosphere.
The light of the candles amplifies the impact of the notes and transforms the hall into a “temple of emotions” where the Maestro’s works find the ideal setting, giving the audience an unforgettable musical journey.
The other great concert is a tribute to the refined composer and pianist born in Turin in 1955, Ludovico Einaudi, and to his undisputed masterpieces such as, just to name a few, “Nuvole Bianche”, “Una Mattina”, “Divenire”, and “Experience”, pieces of rare emotion also amplified by the warm and soft light of candles.
Tickets are on sale online on the FEVER website.
