The Duo Perfetto: an exclusive performance at Palazzo Doglio
The Duo Perfetto will exhibit on the 7th of October 2020 at 19:30, at the Corte Doglio of Palazzo Doglio, the elegant luxury hotel in the heart of Cagliari.
The Duo Perfetto is the protagonist of the second edition of “Musica A Corte”, a series of concerts en Plein air transforming the splendid Corte Doglio of the Palazzo Doglio luxury hotel near the historical districts of Cagliari, into a suggestive open-air theatre in the centre of the ancient city of Casteddu.
A special evening organized in collaboration with the Associazione Culturale Italo-Tedesca, during which pianist Clorinda Perfetto and first cello of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari Orchestra Robert Witt, will take the spectators on a musical journey which will include pieces of great German and Italian composers including Ludwig Van Beethoven and Ennio Morricone.

Duo Perfetto: who are the two musicians of the golden couple
The Duo Perfetto began in 2015 when pianist Clorinda Perfetto from Cagliari and cello player Robert Witt from Berlin, both professors of the Orchestra del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, won the international contest of chamber music Tim and we’re first place in all five rounds.
Since that moment their success brought Clorinda and Robert to exhibit in over 250 concerts in Europe and South America alongside radio shows, television shows including RAI 3, Sintony, Radio 3 ”suite”, SardegnaUno, TCS, Videolina, Radiolina, Radio Nacional Argentina, Radio Mar de Plata, where they presented live the 4 CDs for piano and cello. Since 2017, Radio3 dedicates ”La stanza della musica” to the couple, a transmission presented by Francesco Antonioni.
After the success of ”Complete Kapustin” for Brilliant Classics and ”Da Bonaria a Buenos Aires” for the Limen Music, which has many exceptional arrangements of Sardinian and Argentinian music by Josè Bragato and Astor Piazzola, Perfetto and Witt began to explore a new musical area and in 2019 they recorded their inedit arrangement of the 4 seasons by Vivaldi for cello and harpsichord.
During the post covid tourneè ”Vanguardista” in 2020, the Duo Perfetto were the first to break the silence after 6 months in venues such as the Internationales Theatre Frankfurt, the International Festival ”VIVACELLO” in Basilea-Liestal, the Goldbekhaus in Hamburg, the KonzerSaal in Musikinstumenten Museum I Stuttgart, the KonzertSaal in Christ is Kirche in Dresden, the International Festival ”Musikmauf DUO PERFETTO Dresden” in Birkinfield, and the Fraglia della Vela in Riva del Garda.
The two artists have faced difficulties connected to Covid restrictions and the maximum capacity of available theatres with creativity and sacrifice, they performed in open-air shows making use of professional amplifiers and illumination equipment, also performing twice in an evening and conquering the hearts of Italian, Swiss and German public.
Robert Witt was born in 1971, he studied cello at the Hochschule fuer Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin with masters such as P. Vogler e M.Pfaender. In 1986 he won the ”J.S.Bach” contest in Lipsia and continued his studies in Moscow with master V.Simon, first cello of the Radio Orchestra of Moscow. After his diploma, he continued to study with Daniel Shafran.
He was Stellvertretender Solocellist of the Staatskapelle Dresden from 1994 to 2004 where he executed the entire opera repertory and that of the ballet as first cello under direction of di James Levine, Bernhard Haitink, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Michail Jurowski, Wolfgang Rennert, John Fiore, Arthur Fagen, Stefan Soltesz, Ingo Metzmacher, Siegfried Kurz, Christof Prick, Friedemann Layer.
He tought cello at the Hochschule fuer Musik “Carl Maria von Weber”in Dresda and played as a solist in concerts by J.Haydn with the “Dresdner Kapellsolisten“orchestra of Staatskapell, and cello and orchestra concerts by Dimitri Showtakovich op. 107 with the “Robert Schumann Philharmonie” (Zwickau).
Alongside his activities as first cello player of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, he continues to play as a soloist in many other chamber music groups and to teach cello master classes in Italy, Germany and United States.
Clorinda Perfetto was a prodigious child and began to study the piano when she was just 7 years old in the class of A.Eggman Giangrandi, student of Nikita Magaloff.
When she turned 17, Perfetto played with the orchestra the 5°concert by Ludwig van Beethoven at the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari, and after two years she completed her studies with M. Orio Buccelleto and carried out her Diploma with top marks and extra praise at the Conservatorio Pierluigi da Palestrina.
In 2006 she completed the Diploma of high perfection with M. Bruno Mezzena performing concert n.3 by Bela Bartok with the Aquila orchestra directed by M. D. Renzetti. Shortly after she also got a degree in law and a bachelors in piano annexed to the study of orchestra direction, both graded with 110/110 with praise.
She has won many national and international contests, including the Bach ”Sestri Levante”, the “Concorso Franz Schubert” in Alessandria, the “Pergolesi” contest in Naples, the “Città di Alberga” contest, the “Premio Gramsci” in Cagliari and she has played Bach, Mozart KV 414 and 466 with many Italian orchestras.
She has also received many honourable prizes (including the ”Sociedad Italiana” de Tucuman “Casa d’Italia” of Mar del Plata, “Cittadini distinguidos” of La Plata e Rosario, “Diploma de Honor” of Mendoza) and other scholarships (including merit by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia) allowing her to perfection herself with L.Zilberstein, V.Sofronitzky, J.Kamavicius, S.Pochekin, S.Knauer.
She participated as a soloist in many radio and television transmissions and regularly exhibits in many chamber music festivals and various chamber formations and with exceptional so lists including Pavel Vernikoff.
Since 2001, she has performed as the first piano of the orchestra of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and Maestro di sala in Cagliari and at the Arena di Verona, much of the concert, symphonic and choral repertoire for piano, celesta, harpsichord under the direction of some of the most important conductors including G.Pretre, M.Letonja, H.Haenchen, P.Steinberg, G.Pehlivanian, A.Vedernikoff, W.Marshall, G. Bisanti, D.Oren, R.Palumbo, J.Jones, H.Schellenberger and many more.
After the success of “Complete Kapustin” and “From Bonaria to Buenos Aires”, the Duo Perfetto is about to release 5 Cds and recently began collaborating with the Scuola Grande of San Rocco in Venice, which asked the two musicians to transcribe a series of compositions belonging to the library of the School and presented to the public, for the first time, in a series of nine concerts in the Church of San Rocco in Venice.
