“La Famiglia Transylvania” at Teatro Doglio: all the info on the show
The blockbuster show loved throughout Italy lands for the only date in Sardinia on the stage of Teatro Doglio.
Halloween, the most frighteningly fun party of the year, begins on Sunday 29th October at Palazzo Doglio, the prestigious 5-star hotel in the centre of Cagliari. We begin with the show “Children’s Halloween“, an evening of adventure thanks to the Superanimators and the “Legend of the Kraken”, an extraordinary marine adventure, and continues until 4th November when the stage of Teatro Doglio will host the show “La famiglia Transilvania”, a box-office champion throughout Italy with more than 50,000 spectators.
It is an exhilarating show, for the young and the old, which in an easy and direct way conveys to the viewer a simple but powerful message about hospitality, coexistence between different cultures and against racism. A theme of extraordinary relevance tackled with the light and fun touch of the author Pietro Clementi.
Jack Tripper, a funny and cowardly Italian-English aristocrat, is invited, along with his wife Amanda, to a remote castle in Transylvania to meet the family of Ella, fiancée and betrothed of his son Finn. Opposed and reluctant to the union between different cultures, Jack arrives in the gloomy castle of his father-in-law: what he does not know is that Ella is none other than the daughter of Count Dracula (who is also hostile to union with the human race).
The vampire, therefore, will do anything to prevent the marriage and to turn the Tripper spouses into vampires.
Between wolf-grandmothers in love, 3-meter-tall uncles and an endless series of cute and clumsy bumbling monsters, the meeting/clash between the two families will make you die… of laughter of course!!
And, after a succession of funny clashes between monsters and humans, the protagonists (and children) will understand that there is no need to be afraid of differences because there is only to learn from them.
“La famiglia Transilvania”, a cult book by Pietro Clementi
In September 2023, the book of the same name “La famiglia Transilvania” was published by Gallucci Editore, one of the most important children’s book publishers in Italy.
The funny story came to life from the imagination and pen of Pietro Clementi, writer, playwright, director, actor and composer born in Rome in 1972.
Clementi has produced over 50 shows dedicated to children in which the audience is not only a spectator but remains involved on a physical, vocal and emotional level. In addition, in 2015 he founded the theatre company “Un Teatro da favola”, whose performances for families have pulverized all attendance records in Rome and Milan.
In addition to “La Famiglia Transilvania,” he wrote “Non è colpa della cicogna,” which was released on November 26, 2020, and ” La favolosa favola della fatina Scemarella,” on October 7, 2022.
