Palazzo Doglio: Hervé Tullet hosts Back to School
The irresistible creative spirit of Expo Idéale will take over Palazzo Doglio’s courtyard spaces.
Palazzo Doglio, the refined 5-star luxury hotel in the centre of Cagliari, about ten minutes from the famous Poetto Beach, celebrates the reopening of schools with the New York Times – bestselling author who revolutionised children’s literature, the “genius of rediscovered childhood” Hervé Tullet.
From 15th to 17th September, the beating heart of Palazzo Doglio, the magnificent Corte Doglio that recreates the style of the historic Italian squares and offers an immersive and elegant experience among sumptuous boutiques and starred restaurants, will host the second event in Italy dedicated to Expo Idéale, the great international project of collaborative creation conceived by the artistic genius of Tullet that invites everyone to create their own exhibition Ideal inspired by the artist’s style.
It is a work-in-progress exhibition born from Hervé Tullet’s Art Academy. This year, for the first time will be hosted at Forte Village, the award-winning resort in the enchantment of Santa Margherita di Pula, which saw the staff of the Museo in Erba di Lugano protagonist of the project as Ambassadors of the “Tullet Method”.
The works, created at the Art Academy in July and August, will be the starting point from which to continue the first Expo Idéale held in Sardinia which will then join the international project of the artist.
An exhibition open to both great creative ateliers for parents and children will be the protagonists of the first weekend after the reopening of schools, along with the precious support of the staff of the aforementioned Museo in Erba in Lugano and with the collaboration of the publishing house Franco Cosimo Panini.
The irresistible creative spirit of Expo Idéale will therefore take over the spaces of the courtyard of Palazzo Doglio, colouring them with the works that saw the light during the Art Academy of Hervé Tullet and the new works that will be created on the day of the inauguration by all those who want to take part in an art exhibition of global importance in Cagliari.
Hervé Tullet: the genius of rediscovered childhood?
Internationally recognised and awarded numerous awards in the field of children’s literature, Tullet, a French writer and illustrator born in 1958, creative and playful, produces works that privilege interaction and involve the reader, rather than promoting passive fruition and a traditional narrative path, and draw inspiration from collaborative art.
At the heart of his approach lies the belief that the true power of creativity lies in the creative process itself, where the transition from idea to action delivers authentic visual surprises, rather than focusing only on the aesthetic aspect.
And from these revelations, a strong and engaging enthusiasm and a disruptive energy emerge.
His books, have been translated into more than 20 languages and Tullet was a New York Times bestseller list for over four years.
Palazzo Doglio’s event dedicated to Expo Idéale
Based on Hervè Tullet’s credo that “Arts becomes such if shared”, Palazzo Doglio’s event wants to be an opportunity to celebrate the importance of welcoming the generative simplicity of play, allowing oneself the space to return to our own childhood along with our children.
The photographs of the works created will be sent to the artist and to the organisers of Expo Idéale that will publish the most beautiful, allowing them to be admired all over the world.
Gestures, colours, sheets, glue, shapes and lines: these are the main tools of the two great creative workshops for adults and children of all ages by the staff of the Museo in Erba di Lugano, Friday 15th September at 5 pm and 6.30 pm.
The exhibition will remain open to all for the entire weekend at the Court of Palazzo Doglio.
Reservations for the two creative ateliers for parents and children will open from September 5th by sending an email to info@palazzodoglio.com
The price of the single atelier is 25 euros per child (the fee includes the workshop, a snack for the child, a dedicated graphic by Tullet and the participation of the parent).
There are no age limits for either children or adults.
