The School of Magic at Teatro Doglio: a double event to celebrate Halloween in Cagliari
Halloween arrives at Teatro Doglio on Sunday, November 1, 2026, with The School of Magic, the double event for the whole family: little ones can enjoy the Little Wizards sensory workshop, while the Halloween Magic Experience will take the audience on a journey through magic, emotions, and fun.
Halloween is the time of year when imagination can take over: the lights become more eerie, pumpkins turn into lanterns, costumes transform adults and children into fantastical (and often supernatural) creatures, and even the most familiar surroundings can hide something mysterious.
It is precisely this atmosphere that provides the backdrop for “The School of Magic – Halloween at Teatro Doglio.” Following the success of the previous edition, dedicated to the iconic story of the Addams Family, the event organized by Palazzo Doglio in collaboration with the entertainment company Seconda Stella returns. For an entire day, on Sunday, November 1, 2026, the renowned Teatro Doglio in Cagliari, located just a few steps from the famous hotel, will thus become part of a universe populated by young wizards, workshops, potions, mysterious plants, fascinating animals, skill challenges, and surprises.
The inspiration comes from the world of the great schools of magic and from the imagery that has always accompanied the night of October 31, but the experience is designed as an original journey where theatre, play, creativity, and conviviality come together. It is therefore not simply a matter of watching a show: participants will be called upon to take an active role in the story, face the various challenges, and experience firsthand the thrill of the most magical night of the year.
The School of Magic: an entire day in the world of magic
The program for November 1 has been designed to guide different audiences through two distinct experiences, both connected to the same magical universe.
Little Wizards Lab, the magical workshop for little ones
The morning will be dedicated to the youngest children with the Little Wizards Lab, hosted in the Corte di Palazzo Doglio and designed for children aged 0 to 5 and their families.
It is a sensory and pouring workshop inspired by herbology lessons at schools of magic, where soil, small pots, and mysterious mandrakes become the ingredients of an experience designed to stimulate curiosity and a desire to explore. Children will be able to take care of their own magical creature and take part in an age-appropriate activity, experiencing their first encounter with the fantastical world of The School of Magic. At the end, they will also be able to take home a small keepsake from the experience.
The workshop will be offered in two sessions, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Each ticket includes admission for one child and one accompanying adult, with the option of adding additional accompanying adults.
Halloween Magic Experience: a unique experience for the whole family
In the afternoon, the magic will move to the Teatro on Via Logudoro with the Halloween Magic Experience, a two-hour journey designed to involve the whole family. The experience will be created through entertainment, interaction, performances, and sets, with an atmosphere reminiscent of a real Halloween day inside a school of magic. Aspiring students will be able to move through different settings, take part in various activities, and meet characters ready to accompany them throughout the journey.
Among the first stops will be a real alchemist’s station, complete with vials, mysterious ingredients, and steaming cauldrons, where participants will be able to try their hand at preparing a special antidote potion. Nearby, they will find a magical greenhouse housing autumn plants and mandrakes, to be observed and handled with care. And to make the experience even more special, live owls and barn owls will also make an appearance, accompanied by a professional falconer.
The journey will also include various skill challenges, a hunt for a very fast golden sphere, a divination area featuring a large crystal ball, and itinerant young wizards who will accompany the new students through the different activities. Those who wish will be able to complete their apprentice look by wearing cloaks, scarves, and wands, and will be able to take home a photograph as a memento of their entry into the world of magic.
Four long tables will welcome the participants, divided into four groups. Each table will be associated with a different value and a different activity, so that the journey is not simply a collection of games, but also a way to build a collective story. Courage will be put to the test through pumpkin carving and the creation of protective lanterns; ingenuity will take center stage in calligraphy activities, among feathers and mysterious ancient alphabets; ambition will be linked to the creation of wax seals and potion labels; while loyalty and friendship will be at the heart of spooky stories and tales created together with a storyteller.
The result will be a journey in which play and storytelling move forward together, with different activities connected by a single common thread: experiencing Halloween by truly entering the world of magic. Here too, it will be possible to choose between two different sessions – the first will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., while the second will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The School of Magic – Halloween at Teatro Doglio: when the celebration turns into a real adventure
And precisely because it is Halloween, not everything will necessarily go according to plan. When the celebration seems to be fully underway, something will suddenly change: the lights will dim, smoke will fill the Teatro, and a mysterious creature resembling an enormous snake will appear among the tables.
Its entrance will be accompanied by a spectacular contortion performance, bringing the surprise directly into the middle of the audience. It will be one of the most visually striking moments of the day and will help make the experience even more immersive, transforming the Teatro for a few moments into a space suspended between reality and fantasy.
This is the distinctive feature of The School of Magic – Halloween at Teatro Doglio: the activities, settings, and performances are not conceived as separate elements, but as parts of a single experience. Participants will be invited to play, observe, experiment, and become fully immersed, while the Halloween atmosphere provides the common thread throughout the entire day.
