Wine tasting: Cantine alla Corte events at Osteria del Forte
The Cantine alla Corte is a series of wine tasting events for those interested in discovering some of the best Sardinian wines paired with Italian haute cuisine under a starry sky at the exclusive Osteria del Forte.
The event is organised by the Osteria del Forte and celebrates the perfect combination of excellent dishes prepared by Executive Chef of the restaurant Alessandro Cocco and renowned wines from the island’s producers.
The appointments at the Osteria del Forte in Palazzo Doglio will begin on Tuesday 7th of August. Palazzo Doglio is the new luxury hotel in the capital of Sardinia, it’s right in front of the magnificent Basilica of Saturnino, just 400 metres from the great touristic port in via Roma and close to the historical districts of Cagliari and the famous Poetto seafront and its beautiful urban beach.
The restaurant in the exceptional courtyard of Palazzo Doglio, unites all delicious flavours of a typical Italian trattoria with the modern reinterpretation by chef Alessandro Cocco.
Chef Cocco built his career at Forte Village by working with masters of international cuisine like Gordon Ramsay and three Michelin starred chef Heinz Beck. Alessandro adopts the ancient tradition of homemade pasta and is famous for using local, seasonal ingredients for his delicious creations.
The Osteria del Forte is an elegant restaurant with a refined and welcoming environment perfect for all meals them being breakfast, lunch or a romantic dinner in a magical atmosphere.
The targeted food experience at Osteria del Forte creatively unites traditional flavours with contemporary innovation. The restaurant offers a top selection of Italian and international cuisine and has recently added a new daily appointment with many variations of flavours: brunch.
Alongside the Cantine alla Corte events, there are also the “Notti Stellate” in a “4 hand dinner” format during which Alessandro Cocco will collaborate with internationally famous colleagues and will provide all guests with an unforgettable dining experience.

The Osteria del Forte in Cagliari gives all food and wine lovers the possibility of experiencing some of the best Sardinian wine labels with delicious dishes prepared by Alessandro Cocco during the Cantine alla Corte appointments.
The four-course menu will be different each evening. Starting from appetisers to dessert, all dishes will be carefully studied by the Executive Chef of the Osteria del Forte to enhance the essence and character of the many wines from the various wineries taking part in this initiative organised by Palazzo Doglio.
Here are the six Cantine alla Corte appointments to remember:
7th July – Dolianova winery: Dolianova winery was founded in 1949 by thirty-five winemakers who created a cooperative so to make wine in a 3000-year-old area of traditional winemaking according to neuralgic artefacts (jugs and wine-presses) found in the area. This symbolic winery in Parteolla, a historical region in the south-east of Sardinia, sells its wine production in Italy, European countries, in America, Asia, Africa and Oceania. In the last 10 years, it has been prized more than 100 times at the main international contests and its recognitions since 1949 to today are over 500.
22nd July 2020 – Santadi winery: the winery if Santadi is in Sulcis, south-west area of Sardinia and a few kilometres as the crow flies, from the marvellous white beaches and dunes of Porto Pino. It was founded in 1960 and during the last year it has received important national recognitions including the 5 Bunch Award of the Guide to Italian Wines Vitae 2019 and the great Three glasses of Gambero Rosso in 2019.
5th August – Contini winery: Contini has focused mainly on one wine for the past 120 years, the Vernaccia of Oristano, a wine sided by other important productions over the years. The winery is well known in Italy and abroad and has received some important prizes including the silver medal at the Wine Competition “Decanter 2018” for Pariglia Vermentino di Sardegna and the gold medal at Decanter World Wine Awards for Vernaccia.
26th August – Surrau winery: the vineyards of Surrau are located in the eastern part of Gallura, in sunny valleys cleansed by the minstrel wind from the mouths of Bonifacio. Their wines have received many prizes like the Tre Bicchieri del Gambero Rosso in the Wines of Italy 2020 with Vermentino di Gallura 2018.
2nd September – Boni Mores winery: the Montessu farm, home of Carignano Boni Mores IGT, is surrounded by centuries-old olive groves and is neighbour to the ancient Domus de Janas in the necropolis of Montessu in the heart of Sulcis, from which the winery takes its name.
16th September – Argiolas winery: Antonio Argiolas founded the winery at the end of the 30s. He grew the company for years and is still present since he left it to his children. The estate is now run by his grandchildren, three family generations. The Argiolas winery produces some of the most famous and prized Sardinian Wines and they are considered one of the most representative wine producers of Sardinia.
