Back on the stage of Teatro Doglio the Christmas fixture with international Gospel.
On the running to Christmas, Friday, December 16th at 9 pm, the stage of Teatro Doglio, located in via Logudoro in Cagliari, will host Junior Robinson, one of the most acclaimed gospel artists in the United Kingdom and winner of the Gospel Award “Best Singer of the Year”, accompanied by the Black Soul Gospel Choir.
About 25 people, including artists and choristers, will lead the spectators on an evocative journey through the sounds of Contemporary Gospel, a musical genre that originates from the essence of the Spiritual (which meets with Jazz, Soul and Blues) and that has evolved over the centuries becoming a message of love, joy and hope.
The voice of Junior Robinson is an icon of European Gospel. He has had numerous appearances on TV and Radio programs and as part of the cast of the musical “Mama, I want to sing” in 1995, staged in the London’s West End alongside pop and gospel stars Deniece Williams, Chaka Khan and Mica Paris.
Robinson, who has participated in the recording of many albums both as a soloist and as a backing vocalist and collaborator for the likes of Coolio, Yolanda Adams and Michael Bolton, regularly showcases his music in Switzerland, Denmark, Germany, Italy and Poland.
Recently, he also received an invitation to sing with the Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra in Poland.
At Teatro Doglio, the voice of Junior Robinson and the music of the Black Soul Gospel Choir will reawaken the soul, involving the spectators in dances and songs.
During the performance on December 16th, poignant blues melodies will alternate with rhythmic songs with which African Americans expressed the joy of being Christians and having been saved by the Faith. There will be slow songs with a deep message and songs that evoke the magical Christmas atmosphere such as “Silent Night”, “Oh Holy Night” and “Joy to the World”, to arrive, in a relentless crescendo, to the evergreens brought to success by films like “Sister Act” and the timeless “Oh Happy Day”.

The Christmas fixture with international Gospel returns in the splendid setting of Teatro Doglio, an architectural jewel of the Sixties in the heart of Cagliari, discovered by chance during the renovation of the adjacent Palazzo Doglio.
It is the second largest theatre in the city, a contemporary space with a multifunctional structure that, returned to the citizens after being closed for forty years, offers quality cultural events and can accommodate from 100 to 1000 people.
A reference point for wide-ranging projects and the entertainment agenda of the Sardinian capital, Teatro Doglio is also an ideal location for events and conferences thanks to the three meeting rooms, the latest generation equipment, the external and internal foyer, and a fabulous winter garden.
